Meet Us at the Farmers Market this Summer

Spark Kombucha got its start at the Squamish & Whistler Farmer’s Markets back in 2015 and every year we look forward to being back there, slinging new and favourite flavours and connecting with our customers face to face. The market season has already been in full swing since mid-May, and you’ll find us at both the Squamish and Whistler markets every other weekend from now until September.

Below we’re giving you the low down on each market, their location and hours, and the exact dates you’ll find us there. Plus, we’ll go through a couple frequently asked questions about what we’re selling and how we’re filling this summer at the markets.

Squamish Farmer’s Market

Saturdays – 10am – 3pm
37996 Cleveland Avenue at Victoria Street, downtown Squamish
www.squamishfarmersmarket.com

This year the Squamish Farmer’s Market is celebrating its 18th season and Spark has been a vendor for seven of those seasons! We love being at our local market as often as possible, not only because it’s so close to home, but also because of all the people we get to say hi to.

If you like to be prepared and know exactly who will be there, check out the Squamish market’s website for weekly listings and a market map. You’ll also find details about their safety protocols which include having a maximum capacity which is monitored by market volunteers who count people as they enter and exit. This might mean you have to wait a little longer in line to get into the market but trust us, it’s worth it! Once you’re in you’ll move around the market in one direction which is where the market map comes in handy! Be sure to make a note of the vendors you want to visit so you don’t miss them.

Whistler Farmer’s Market

Sundays – 11am – 4pm
*NEW LOCATION* 4500 Northlands Boulevard, near Marketplace (Whistler Racket Club)
www.whistlerfarmersmarket.org

Whistler is where it all began for Spark and we love spending Sundays filling cups and growlers for our Whistler peeps (and the visitors too, when they’re allowed to join us!). The Whistler market has a brand new location for the 2021 season and we’re already loving it! They’ve got more room for vendors, some parking for market shoppers, and the Whistler Racket Club offers Sunday Funday activities for the whole family.

To prep your shopping list and find out who will be at the Whistler market each weekend, check out their website and social pages for updates. There might be a line up depending on when you arrive, but it will move fast! Market volunteers will be managing the flow of people into the market, and you’ll be asked to follow the arrows and signs as you move through the site.

MARKET FAQS

CAN I BRING MY GROWLER TO THE FARMER’S MARKET FOR A REFILL?

We are not 'refilling’ any USED growlers at this time due to COVID health & safety regulations - not even our own Spark branded growlers!
Instead, we are offering a growler exchange program. You simply drop off your clean 1L or 2L Spark growler in EXCHANGE for a fresh NEW growler filled with kombucha for the “refill" price.

WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE A GROWLER TO EXCHANGE?

No growler? No problem! You can purchase a growler from us at the market, or if you’re not that thirsty you can also purchase just a cup to go. But we’d hate to say I told you so when you circle back for more, so best to treat yourself to at least 1L of your favourite flavour ;)

WHAT ELSE DO YOU SELL AT THE MARKET?

If you’re ready to take your kombucha love to the next level we also sell our DIY Home Brew Kits, which include detailed instructions and all the equipment and tools you need to get started. Our brew master Ellen has carefully curated this kit to make your kombucha making experience as simple and tasty as possible.

WHAT FLAVOURS DO YOU SERVE AT THE MARKETS?

We like to mix it up at the markets each week and offer flavours that aren’t in our mainstay line up. To see which flavours we’ll be slinging at the market each week, be sure to follow us on Facebook or Instagram

HOW LONG WILL MY KOMBUCHA LAST?

First rule of kombucha, always keep it refrigerated! In the fridge, unopened, your kombucha will last at least a month, and still be fizzy. After you’ve opened it, it will start to lose it’s fizz (just like beer or pop) but it’s still ok to drink.

WHAT IF I’VE ALREADY GOT TOO MUCH TO CARRY WHEN I GET TO YOUR BOOTH AND CAN'T GRAB ANY KOMBUCHA?

No need to worry if your arms are already full and you can’t carry one more thing, Spark offers home delivery to the Sea to Sky every week! Head to our website and place your order by Sunday at 5pm to receive your kombucha on Wednesday. In addition to cases of our 355mL stubbies, we’re now offering our mainstay flavours in a 1L growler! So you never have to miss out on your kombucha fix!

WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE IT TO THE MARKET ON THE DAYS WHEN YOU'RE THERE?

Lucky for you, there are a few places you can get your growlers filled on the weekends we’re not at either the Squamish or Whistler markets. Check out our list of retail partners on our website or our #FindUsFriday on Instagram to see where you can get your growler filled.

PS. Nesters Market in Squamish now has 6 of our flavours on tap all the time! Our four mainstay flavours, plus two seasonal flavours. You can purchase a new growler to be filled or you can bring a growler which they will wash and sanitize in their dishwasher before filling, so be sure to drop it off before you shop!
